Alan was born in Sydney & spent 55 years in the Sutherland Shire. Alan has played Rugby league since he was 7 & played until he was 21, playing in excess of 200 games.

He began work at Dominelli Ford & began as a trainee in Spare Parts.
In 1980 Alan met Kathleen & they were married in 1983. Dominelliā€™s provided a stretch-limo (a rarity in the 1980s) Kathleenā€™s Dad was so impressed he didnā€™t want to get out of the limo at the Church!!! Kathleen & Alan have two children, now married & two granddaughters aged 3 & 2. After 10 years in Spare Parts at Dominellis Alan became the Manager of a Mazda Dealer for 10 years & then General Manager of a Toyota Dealership for 8 years.
