Inner Wheel Turns 40

Tonight our club was blessed with nine members of the Port Macquarie West Inner Wheel Club who came to announce their 40th Anniversary coming up on the 29th September. Guest speaker – Margot Lee gave an interesting presentation using power point on the history of the local club and the impact of Inner Wheel around the world. Inner Wheel began in 1924 in England and has now grown to be one of the largest women’s voluntary services in the world. Inner Wheel has over 100,000 members from 103 countries across the globe. The local Inner Wheel club has 38 members & meets on the 4th Thursday of each month. Their special project is to raise funds for Cord Blood Research. Inner Wheel in Australia has raised $2.2M & received $2.1M in 38 special grants for this project.
