Wool Urgently Needed
Based in Port Macquarie, Sam’s Natty Knitters have been meeting on Mondays for just on 12 months. This is a group of 20 or so women who have been busy knitting a wide range of products and donating them to many community groups in the Hastings area. In particular, Women’s Refuges, Homeless Support Groups and Soup Kitchens have greatly appreciated being able to pass these on to their clients.
Although social distancing currently prevents the group from meeting in person, their productivity has increased as the knitters are stuck at home!
Wool of any variety is urgently needed to keep this work going and with winter fast approaching, the need for woollen clothing – in particular hats, beanies, gloves and scarves – will be needed more than ever.
If you can help please let Sam Openshaw (0408 235 870) or Elizabeth Fielding (0407 369 512) know and they will be more than happy to collect any donations.
